Frazier catches S.C. Shrine coach's attention

“We invited the skill players because there was more that they could do but anyone could come,” he said. “There were a lot of players we liked.”

Asked to name a few, he thought a moment and then deferred because he didn’t have his list handy. He can be forgiven for that; Lineberger is getting married today.

“But one we really liked was Kendrick Frazier of Denmark-Olar High. He plays tight end and defensive end, he has good size (6-3, 250) and speed (4.6), and it was evident that he really enjoys playing the game.

“We would probably use him at tight end in the Shrine Bowl.”

If he makes the team, of course. But Frazier’s stock has risen rapidly; he now has offers from South Carolina, Kentucky and S.C. State. More should be on the way.
