Clemson Tigers land N.C. Shrine pick Tra Thomas

The Tigers are again doing well in North Carolina, and picked off talented Anson Senior defensive tackle and Shrine Bowler Tra Thomas Tuesday, when he called his Clemson recruiter Dan Brooks to commit between practices.

No word on whether he will still take an official visit to Duke on Jan. 15, but you can bet against it. Although he visited Michigan State in November, he has been a Clemson lean for some time now.

Thomas, who is 6-foot-1 and 275 pounds, had also been offered by West Virginia and East Carolina, among others.

Watched him against South Point in playoffs. Looks talented against small linemen. Also requires discipline, i.e. likes to grab face masks, hit late, fold up the ball carrier well after the play is over.
