Things are heating up over at South Stanly High in Norwood. Justin Taylor, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound DE who has been attracting considerable attention, has received scholarship offers from N.C. State and Virginia Tech, and will be visiting Blacksburg, Va., this weekend to check out the facilities, coach Luke Little said.
South Stanly also has two other rising seniors attracting lots of notice, although neither has been offered yet. Wide receiver/safety Detric Allen and quarterback Desi Brown will both be attending Wake Forest’s camp this weekend, and offers are possible if they do well. –Stan Olson
If you know of a player who has received an offer recently or has committed to a school, drop me a note at solson@charlotteobserver.com. We’ll track the information down and get it in our blog.

Thank you for your coverage of local athletes gaining attention on the recruiting trail, but the bigger news at South Stanly this week is the baseball team competing for the 1A baseball title.
