Folks, junior quarterbacks are falling from the trees

On Thanksgiving, The Observer will publish its first rankings of the Carolinas’ top juniors. These are the players who will dominate our Top 50 Carolinas’ prospects list in 2010—the Class of 2011.

It’s been tough to trim this group down—we may go with 20 in each state for now—but I’m pumped about the level of junior talent in both states. Particularly at the quarterback position; the two states are loaded with guys who will step under center at the Division I level. QBs are literally all over the place.

If you have a recommendation, holler at me at solson@charlotteobserver.com. Do it quickly, I’m going to finish the list by Monday. Right now, time to get ready for a little playoff football, over at Butler.

Can't wait to see the list. Please do us a favor and use some sense when putting it together. We're still laughing about the nonsense that the junior QB from Providence Day being a big time recruit. The kid may not even start next year--he had something like 3 Tds and 16 interceptions for the year, but you still see his face all over Scout.com. What the heck are they using for game tape to evaluate this kid?

You have to put Myrtle Beach quarterback Everett Golson on the list! He's already been offered by Florida, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Michigan, Clemson, and South Carolina. The man is a flat out stud!
