Beaufort (S.C.)High linebacker Justin Parker took an unofficial visit to Clemson for Saturday’s Middle Tennessee, and continues to favor the Tigers slightly over South Carolina, with that duo ahead of his many other pursuers, according to Columbia recruiting expert Phil Kornblut.
Parker, who is ranked No.12 on The Observer’s SC Top 25 list, had also strongly considered N.C.State and WakeForest earlier, but now seems likely to stay in-state. Colorado and Nebraska, intrigue him, though, maybe enough for one of those schools to get an official visit.
Have a nice trip out west, Justin. Enjoy the country. Remember those 800 inches of winter snow. Then we’ll see you back in the Sandlapper state when fall practice starts. Wearing orange or garnett.
Ken Tysiac has covered the ACC in the Raleigh Bureau of The Charlotte Observer since 2003. He spent eight years in South Carolina covering Clemson, first with the Anderson Independent-Mail and later with The (Columbia) State. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1991.
