And while we’re talking about schools making those verbal offers official, Goose Creek (S.C.) High offensive tackle Brandon Shell has already received written offers from Clemson, Duke, N.C. State, South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee, according to his coach, Chuck Reedy.
Shell, a monster at 6-foot-8 and 310 pounds, has quick feet and is particularly adept at pass-blocking. He transferred to Goose Creek from West Ashley High during the off-season.
An interesting side note; Brandon is the nephew of former NFL player and coach Art Shell.

interesting side note? Art Shell is a Hall of Fame lineman. That is significant.
Ken Tysiac has covered the ACC in the Raleigh Bureau of The Charlotte Observer since 2003. He spent eight years in South Carolina covering Clemson, first with the Anderson Independent-Mail and later with The (Columbia) State. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1991.
