Could Rutgers claim King to play with Dodd?

While we’re talking about Byrnes standouts, what about wide receiver Jazz King?

King, who had drawn the interest of several Carolinas’ schools earlier in 2009, had a strong senior season, but now holds offers to Ole Miss and Illinois, and is getting an in-depth look from Rutgers.

“We can’t figure out why more Carolinas schools aren’t interested,” One Byrnes coach said.

King, a major cog in the Rebels’ offense, finished his senior season with 46 catches for 882 yards and 11 TDs. QB Chas Dodd, the guy who threw him all those passes, has committed to Rutgers and would love to have King to throw to in college as well.

North Carolina and Kansas were the first to offer. Since then, Marshall, Ole Miss and Illinois have offered. He has official visit set up to Illinois, Ole Miss and Carolina. Where did you get this info Stan?

From someone very close to the Byrnes program, who should have very good information.

Right on, funny that he would leave out Carolina in that conversation though, I mean he almost committed last month. I don't think he ends up at Carolina, but they def offered him.

I thought they had as well...

I watched these kids play against St Thomas and came away very impressed with both Dodd and King. I hope both come up to Rutgers and enjoy a great career along with Big East Championships!

hey Rutgers fan, you're right, they'd be a great pickup for you guys. As a Carolina fan, I'd really like to get Jazz King in the fold, but it seems he's lost interest lately with the fact that we are kinda "slow playing" him. Good luck, I really like the Byrnes kids.
