Those Tar Heels’ junior targets at quarterback—the envelope, please
North Carolina has already offered scholarships to six Carolinas’ QBs. Four are from N.C.; as confirmed by their coaches, they are Durham Hillside’s Vad Lee, Butler’s Christian LeMay, Angier Harnett Central’s Brian Taylor and Mallard Creek’s Marquise Williams.
The two S.C. offers have gone to Myrtle Beach’s Everett Golson and Rock Hill’s Justin Worley.
This year, our Carolinas Top 50 had one pure quarterback in the group (several kids played QB but are likely targeted for other positions in college). Next year, the true QBs on the list could approach double figures.
More on the Tar Heels’ in-state targets later today.

Ken Tysiac has covered the ACC in the Raleigh Bureau of The Charlotte Observer since 2003. He spent eight years in South Carolina covering Clemson, first with the Anderson Independent-Mail and later with The (Columbia) State. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1991.
