All-American defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, a 6-foot-3, 311-pound run stuffer considered one of the best in the nation at his position, has either taken or arranged all of the five official visits he’s allowed, and South Carolina and North Carolina get him last of all, giving those schools a change to counter the arguments of the three that had him visit first.
Floyd visited Florida first, and took a trip to Southern Cal last weekend. He will visit PennState Oct. 16 before wrapping things up with stops in Columbia Oct. 23 and Chapel Hill Nov. 6.
He says he has no favorites from among those five, and that he really has a final top ten, also including BostonCollege, Miami, Michigan, Rutgers and West Virginia, all of which will not get officials.
But as for our Carolinas schools, getting those final shots at Floyd couldn’t hurt.
