Patriots' Carrothers getting attention at QB

While the bigger schools won’t take many quarterbacks shorter than 6-foot-1 or so, the smaller ones—with shorter offensive lines to see over—often look at the whole package. So it is with Independence senior QB Anthony Carrothers, who set a bushel of school records this season while pushing the Patriots deep into the playoffs.

Carrothers has been offered by Charleston (W.Va.), Southern and Grambling, and Pembroke has considerable interest in him as well.

Carrothers may be small at 5-foot-9, but he can run and he can throw. It’s now obvious that he—like Appalachian State’s Armanti Edwards before him—will get a chance to prove he can do so at the college level as well.
