While the bigger schools won’t take many quarterbacks shorter than 6-foot-1 or so, the smaller ones—with shorter offensive lines to see over—often look at the whole package. So it is with
Independence senior QB
Anthony Carrothers, who set a bushel of school records this season while pushing the Patriots deep into the playoffs.
Carrothers has been offered by
Charleston (
W.Va.), Southern and Grambling, and Pembroke has considerable interest in him as well.
Carrothers may be small at 5-foot-9, but he can run and he can throw. It’s now obvious that he—like Appalachian State’s
Armanti Edwards before him—will get a chance to prove he can do so at the college level as well.
