Marvin
Ridge junior wide receiver
K.J. Brent came out of
North Carolina’s camp last June with an offer from the Tar Heels—forget about seeing him in game action; he was that good in the drills UNC put him through.
Other offers have followed—from
East Carolina, Duke and, most recently,
South Carolina.
Now, with a junior year’s worth of film under his belt, Brent can expect still more attention.
“In the SEC,
Alabama,
Georgia and
Florida are some of the schools looking at him,” said
Marvin Ridge coach
Scott Chadwick moments ago. “In the ACC, he’s also hearing from
Miami and
Maryland.”
Brent, who is 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, caught 44 passes this season, good for 646 yards and 6 touchdowns.
“Now there’s film and people can see what he can do,” Chadwick said. “He can go up and get the ball wherever it is, and he simply makes some unbelievable catches.”
North Carolina remains heavily in the mix for Brent; he and teammate
Vinnie Sunseri, a highly thought-of LB prospect, are taking unofficial visits to
Chapel Hill this weekend for the
Miami game.

Boy, somebody doesn't keep up with local high school talent very well. Looks like my son should be writing this blog....Marquise Williams plays for Mallard Creek HS, not Marvin Ridge. Check ya facts next time. When the mistakes are that blatant, it speaks of laziness.
My bad; should have written Vinnie Sunseri...
