Juco LB to sign with UNC today

North Carolina will add junior college linebacker Fabby Desir to a 2011 class that was ranked No. 17 in the nation by scout.com on signing day.

Desir will sign with the Tar Heels at noon today, Lackawanna (Pa.) College coach Mark Duda said.

"He's a super strong kid, incredibly tenacious, goes after the ball very, very well," Duda said.

A converted running back and safety, Desir played outside linebacker for Lackawanna but could play any of the three linebacker positions for the Tar Heels, Duda said.

Desir is 6-foot and 230 pounds and also had considered Cincinnati and Ball State, and received late interest from Alabama, Duda said. Desir visited North Carolina last week and will sign this morning at Scranton High, where he played in high school.

More class coming to UNC. Academics aren't a huge part of JUCOs. The PR hit that UNC continues to take is amusing/entertaining and highlights the hypocritical nature that is UNC.

UNC - "To seem, rather than to be."

All ACC fans sans UNC-CHeat are looking forward to the NCAA sanctions headed to Chapel Hill. What a disgrace to a once proud university!

What sanctions would those be? Can't wait to hear you all cry foul when they don't come because UNC handled it as perfectly as could be. All you MooU'ers will be throwing stones from your Glass Grain Silo and when your players are caught with pot & sterioids in their room.... somehow it becomes an illegal search and gets swept under the rug! Great!

State fans are just upset they couldn't sign anyone in football this year because their coach is an a-hole and parents hate him. O'Brien talked more about UNC during official visits than he did about his own team.

Well, State can claim a football sweep against CHeater Hill over the past four years.

UNC-Cheat will be affected by bowl bans. This could also explain the UNC stonewalling and withholding info just to keep Davis 2 more years and most likely get the construction finished at Kenan. Of course the fatcats will be watching what amounts to a middle of the pack FCS type team from their luxury boxes in seasons '14,'15,'16 and '17 with Butch and the players who caused this whole fiasco long gone.I am glad that those players permanently banned were punished this year because otherwise nothing would have happened to them since they would be years removed from UNC-Cheat football before the NCAA hammer drops.

Yawn.

Wake me up when UNC-Cheat beats State or finishes higher than 4th in their division.

NCAA hammer will be dropping no matter how much UNC downplay it.

Wait, what's not classy about JUCOs, necessarily? Kid can't make the grade, goes and handles his work, plays a couple years in the big time. What's so bad about that? Besides, show me any ACC school that has no JUCOs on the roster. Heck, show me any half-decent 1A school anywhere that doesn't, for that matter! You State guys will use any excuse to take shots at UNC. If only you could figure out how to do it without showing how ignorant you are!

Oh you silly woofies. You've signed 8 JOCO players in the last 4 years.
