Brantley could commit to Tar Heels Wednesday

Wide receiver Tehvyn Brantley of Durham’s Mt. Zion Christian Academy will have a sit-down with North Carolina head coach Butch Davis Wednesday, according to his father, Leroy Brantley.

“I see him going up there and maybe committing,” Leroy said this afternoon. “But he has to make a decision that’s best for him as a young man.”

You may remember Tehvyn; his dad took him all over the country to various camps and combines in a journey chronicled on this blog.

He had early offers from Buffalo and Central Michigan, then went to North Carolina’s camp in June and was offered a scholarship on the spot. He recently received an offer from Wyoming as well.

There was more interest; he was the most outstanding WR at Tennessee’s camp, and also did well at several west coast schools. But while many universities have expressed interest, no other offers have been forthcoming.

That’s because Brantley is 5-foot-8, and short receivers aren’t in high demand. Watch Brantley, though, and you can see he’s something special, in the mold of the Panthers’ Steve Smith. He simply goes up and gets the ball.

While Leroy doesn’t know if Tehvyn, who is going to the UNC meeting with his mother, Jackie Alston, will commit Wednesday, I believe the Tar Heels will have a steal if he does so.

Hear those footsteps, woofie??? Be afraid.... You know it's coming for you...

What's coming for us? Can you say 41-10? Until the Tarholes and Davis beat the Pack and O'Brien, you should probably keep your mouth shut. But you will get your chance in November so good luck, it should be a great game.

You guys have a winning season lately? Just checking.

Have you beat us lately? Just checking...

So you beat us 2 years in a row...big whoop....your fun is over.....have fun in mediocrity while we play around in the top 15....

it's funny watching fans of two horrible, horrible programs trade barbs.

Nope what is funny is seeing people hide behind anonymous comments.... Neither has room to brag and both are only one QB possibly from having a losing season... Maybe UsUCK knocks out Russell once again this year... I do think UNC owns them in overall head to head....

The problem with the goat farmers is they will sell their soul to beat THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA. They could lose all games but a victory over the Heels makes their season. And what is up with that gay hand gesture? Is that suppose to be a wolfe's mouth?

the woofies are just mad they couldn't get into unc. just let it go, it couldn't have been that bad there. but then again state's campus and girls do suck.

Goat farmers?...LOL! Yeah,...we're farming goats...btw...your "ram" mascot IS just a male goat. Yep, we run you bums. And UNC girls suck, right along Western Blvd..every day. And most NCSU students aren't lame enough to get accepted to UNC. They actually get JOBS when they graduate.

Yes -- you are correct. NCSU graduates do get jobs. In fact, I hired one to landscape my yard this summer.
