Coveted RB Lattimore picks South Carolina

Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes running back Marcus Lattimore thrilled fans in his home state Tuesday evening when he announced that he will sign with South Carolina on national signing day Wednesday, according to The (Columbia) State Newspaper.

Lattimore is the top-rated player in the Observer's S.C. Top 25 rankings and is generally regarded as the best running back prospect in the nation. Lattimore announced his commitment during an evening news conference at his church in Spartanburg.

Auburn was the other finalist for his services. Lattimore is expected to immediately help a Gameocks rushing attack that finished last in the SEC in each of the last three seasons.
